What is the Vga Planets International Tournament?

The Vga Planets Tournament is supposed to connect Vga Planets players from around the world to find out which nations rules the Vga Planets Echo Cluster.
This is your chance to represent your country in an international contest.

This is the first tournament in Vga Planets and is not supposed to be the last depending on the interest of the players...

Which nations participate?

participating nations are: Asia, Italy, Finland, Spain, Russia, Australia, Canada, USA, UK, Germany

This nations were chosen to be the countries with the most active Vga Planets players. If your country is not listed here don't worry. It may take part in the next tourney already.

Tournament System

The Tournament is divided into 2 parts:

1. round: national games
Every nation hosts as many games as interested players can fill (75 turns in total / at least 3 per week) in which all players play against each other.

1st round started on 01.11.2001.

2. round: tournament game
Players of round 1 play against players out of the other games who have the same ranking. So 1st place players of round 1 play against each other, 2nd place players of round 1 play against each other, etc. (75 turns in total / at least 3 per week)

Only the 1st place players of these games will win. Depending on in which game they played they get points for their country. 11 points for 1st player game (1st place players of round 1), 10 points for place 2 players, etc. The country having the most points in the end wins the contest!

2nd round is supposed to start mid of 2002.

Ranking & Scoring System

Ranking is depending on ASCORE-percentage representing the military strength of an empire. (this may change if a better system is found)

How can I participate for my nation?

You find a list of hosts on this page. Email your national host and ask him for a participation to the contest.

If your nation is marked as "host needed !" I am still looking for someone willing to host a national game. If you're running a VPL Hosting Service and want to host a national game - please email me!
